Hot on the heels of his collaborative album with White Fence's Tim Presley, Hair, Ty Segall has another record coming out, this time with his touring band. What we've heard from it so far has sounded like tossed-off dirty Kleenexes in comparison to Hair's perfumed kerchiefs. "I Bought My Eyes," sounds like a bucking, wild-eyed early highlight. After a brief clean-strummed opening, Segall and his band lay in hard, steadily pushing the song's tempo one speedometer tick at a time into chaos. It feels more redolent of hot-rods-and-heshers stoner metal -- Sleep, St. Vitus, Blue Cheer -- than any Nuggets-era bands.
