In the midst of recording an album of covers, Juliana Hatfield hosted fans for two sets of music at Q Division Studios in Somerville, Massachusetts. Her shimmering, early acoustic set featured a gorgeous cover of “Fruit Fly” from Nada Surf, a crystalline take on Foo Fighters’ “Learn To Fly,” as well as the some classics from her catalog like “My Sister,” “Nirvana,” and new songs like “Candy Wrappers.” The evening electric set, with a backing band, had Hatfield cranking up her First Act cotton candy colored guitar and Gibson SG, ripping through covers of “Do You Wanna Dance?” in a Ramones style, “Closet” by Pete Yorn, and more from her discography including “Somebody Waiting For Me,” “Ok Ok,” and “Just Lust.”  Check out the pictures above and make sure to check out her Pledge Music page (she will write you a song!) to get her new covers album.
