How To Black Out, By The Mash Out Posse, Ghostface Killah and Pharoahe Monch

Judging from the fan-boy murderer’s row of selections on the Iron Fists soundtrack, my guess is that Bobby Digital has allowed Quentin T. to make his own list of dream collaborations. Or they have a very gifted 30-year old music supervisor who understands that not only were Freddie Gibbs and Meth supposed to rap together, but so were M.O.P., Ghostface, and Pharoahe Monch.

Bear in mind, that no Black Out can ever be better than Method Man and Redman’s Blackout, but when you get two of the ten greatest rappers of all-time and one of the ten greatest rap groups, little can go wrong. Ghostface remains in auto-pilot, stacking feta and guacamole like he spends all day at Trader Joe’s. The only really interesting line is his revelation that he plans on getting trashed with my grandmother. I’m all in favor of this. Maybe he can convince her not to vote for a man named Mitt.

M.O.P. still make me want to run into a crowded theater and scream firing squad. The real winner is the Pharoahe, who continues to call other rappers pussies and put them in a sarcophagus.  He’s still using “ratchet” as a weapon not as the most commonly used adjective in strip club words with friends. Meanwhile, expectation for the movie grows higher. This could be the best soundtrack since Sunset Park.
