One thing you do know from the teaser tracks from the forthcoming album is that Crystal Castles' sound hasn't changed much from their original sound. This isn't a bad thing at all, however it does leave you with the feeling that it may just be a record dropping back to their first full-length, self-titled album Crystal Castles.
'Affection' has all of the same ingredients as the older tracks; distant reverberated vocals (of which you have no idea what they are saying), 808 drum snaps and gated synths. As a fan of the previous material from the Castles, it's no surprise that 'Affection' has re-energized my want, and need to listen to the new and old album.

The artwork for the forthcoming album is an award winning photograph taken by the photojournalist Samuel Arand and features Fatima al-Qaws cradling her son Zayed who is suffering from the effects of tear gas after participating in a street demonstration in Sanaa, Yemen.
