Sharing select tracks from the project, last week JP Cooper released bonus track from his forthcoming EP, ‘Keep The Quiet Out’. ‘Oceans 2’ matches JP’s usual soulful inflections to electronic abandon, bringing his sensational vocal into a new style of production. Produced by iLL BLU, the track is a down-temp version of the production duo’s forthcoming single, which will be titled ‘Oceans’.
This release follows on from the sensational ‘Keep The Quiet Out’, which re-introduced JP Cooper, and announced the forthcoming project. ShortList described the track as “a gorgeous gospel-tinged electronic neo-soul effort…an indicator of things to come… we're in for a good time ahead.”
Following on from the release of, ‘Live At The Castle’, recorded in JP’s hometown of Manchester during the summer of 2013, we are now enticed further into the world of JP’s hypnotically beautiful vocals. Allowing us an insight into the versatility of JP Cooper’s voice, ‘Oceans 2’ brings JP away from the strictly smooth, downbeat Soul he is so well known for; propelling him upbeat, whilst still maintaining his gospel-inflections.
