On Friday night, Arcade Fire played the first of three shows at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. For the city-appropriate cover song to kick off the encore they took none of Stereogum’s suggestions! Instead, after the bobbleheads faked out the crowd with New York Dolls’ “Personality Crisis,” the band invited that song’s singer David Johansen to join them as his Buster Poindexter alter ego and perform his ’87 hit and Bar Mitzvah staple “Hot Hot Hot” (itself a cover of soca star Arrow).
