Jermaine Dupri brings Jay out for “P.S.A.”, “Niggas In Paris” and “Clique” at tonight’s So So Def 20th Anniversary celebration.
UPDATED with Jay and JD’s performance of “Money Ain’t A Thang” after the jump.
Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake are two people who are very, very good at performing in front of vast crowds, and they’re both present on Timberlake’s new “Suit & Tie” single. And it just makes sense that both guys are about to link up and spend their summer playing shows at vast football and baseball stadiums across North America. Jay did something like this with Eminem a few years ago, but there they only played Detroit and New York. (He’s also done co-headlining tours with DMX, R. Kelly, Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, and probably some other people I’m forgetting, but those were in piddling little arenas.) This one represents a greatly increased scope, and it could be pretty incredible. Check out the dates below.
There’s been no official announcement yet, but this is happening: Jay and JT will embark on a 12 city stadium tour called Legends of Summer. Dates and times should be forthcoming, but for now we just know the venues, which Life+Times revealed yesterday with a series of cryptic image posts.

Previously: Justin Timberlake ft. Jay-Z – Suit & Tie (Video)
The two videos I liked best this week are about reintroducing superstars: One who’s been away for a while, one who’s barely taken enough time off for anyone to notice it’s been a year since he dropped an album. And both are heavy on old-school music-video values: Expert rhythmic editing, implied sex, the goofily in-charge charisma of their two leads. One goes self-effacing and the other goes over-the-top slick, but they still scratch the same itches. And it’s no surprise that their directors are guys who have been making music videos for long enough to remember how it looked when music videos were on TV. For all the democratization that comes with the YouTube era, all the chances for unsung talents to find audiences on the internet — and we see some of that in two of the other clips — there’s still some real pleasure to be had when you let a professional mess with your eyeballs. Our picks are below.
Justin Timberlake spent a whole lot of time away from music so that he could try acting, but he really only made one good movie, The Social Network. That movie’s director, David Fincher, got his start making videos for people like Madonna and George Michael, and now he’s returned to the form for “Suit & Tie,” Timberlake’s big, slick comeback single. The clip, shot in gleaming black-and-white, doesn’t have much going on conceptually, just a whole lot of footage of light choreography and recording studios and models, with Timberlake and guest Jay-Z always getting to be the coolest motherfuckers in the room. But it’s fun to see a glossy big-budget video put together by one of the best ever to do it. Watch it below.
