Listen to 'Malandrino' here:
The album’s title is derived from a Spanish slang phrase for “pure life,” which is a theme that resonates throughout the new material. The disc’s opener, “We Rise Again,” introduces the album’s limitless, all-embracing themes instantly, centered on a chorus of “Borders are scars on face of the planet.” The new songs are infused with ideas rooted in Eastern philosophy but also search for a means of joining fragmented parts and persons, and of creating a worldwide consciousness.
“For me music is a way to explore human potential,” Hutz says. “And that’s my main interest in life – human potential. Everyone knows there’s something inside of us that we’re not using. How do we get it? How do we reach it? Every single person knows that there’s something and nobody knows what it is. So at one point I said to myself, I’m gonna get down and get it.”
Gogol Bordello has spent the last decade getting down with that energy through their meteoric live shows and has earned a solid reputation as "the hottest global touring act to come out of New York (Billboard)" and "the world's most riotous live band (Rolling Stone).” Their wildly energetic live shows are celebrated by fans worldwide and have brought them to nearly every corner of the globe and to the main stage of festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Roskilde, Rock am Ring, Reading and Leeds to name just a few.
Gogol Bordello will return to the UK to play Download Festival on 14th June.
In addition, Idaho native Trevor Powers has also been slowly and steadily developing a reputation as a compelling live act of the highest order, most recently slaying crowds and standing out from a crowded SXSW. Now, following a slew of sold out shows the last time he was in the UK, Powers will be embarking on a string of live dates in the summer, taking in shows across the country, including an extra special co-headline show with the beautifully idiosyncratic CocoRosie at London's The Barbican and Secret Garden Party. Make sure you don’t miss out.

ABOUT JESSE MARCO:
Just twenty-three years old, New York native Jesse Marco has already solidified himself as one of America’s premiere deejays. As a teenager, Jesse, heavily influenced by his parents’ vast record collection, began to fuse rock, punk, soul, and funk with the hip-hop of his generation. “My parents musical tastes really shaped mine. My first cassette was Led Zeppelin and my second was Sam Cooke.”
Jesse’s encyclopedic knowledge of music, remarkable skill, and ability to captivate a crowd have since taken him around the globe headlining college tours, appearing at festivals, and holding residencies at premiere venues worldwide. Jesse has become a favorite of the fashion and art worlds playing high-profile events for Alexander Wang, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Vivienne Westwood, Donna Karan, Diesel, GQ, and Kaws. Of his choice to hire Jesse to deejay his Milan Fashion Week runway show, Tom Ford said Jesse’s “musical taste reminds me of my childhood.”
His 2012 was highlighted by the College Dropouts Tour, on which he and nightlife photographer Kirill Was Here crashed the ten best college parties in America. That year also saw Jesse headlining the Fall ClASHic Tour alongside Asher Roth, performing with Kid Cudi at Rock The Bells, and playing an eleven-city Vice Magazine-sponsored tour with Pusha-T and Machine Gun Kelly to promote the blockbuster film Project X in which Jesse had a staring role.
“Superstar”, Jesse's latest original single on Glassnote Records, follows a string of acclaimed official remixes for Two Door Cinema Club, Peter Bjorn & John, The Knocks, and his 2012 single “Daddy Cool” [Big Beat / Atlantic Records] which spent weeks on Beatport House chart. His weekly bootlegs have also been widely supported by deejays and music blogs across the globe and recently Jesse's lent his expertise to Stussy and Visionaire, curating exclusive mixes and compilations.
An absolutely gorgeous short film collaboration from the members of the mighty Black Constellation. Shot on location in the Methow Valley, Cascade foothills and Carnation, Washington.

To coincide with the release of his new book, Behind B.A.R.S. (The Authorized Biography of Cassidy), Cass has a new EP out and links up with Pastor Jomo K. Johnson of Philly Open Air Church on “Sunday School.”
